Niirds are bipedal animals endemic to Sejan. They have a segmented, worm-like body with smooth digitigrade legs and no arms. They are usually found on beaches, pecking at sand and eating small animals. They are named after the sounds they make. They are very skittish and nimble creatures, preferring to run away from threats rather than to protect their territory. However, they will defend themselves if they are cornered by an aggressor.

Player interactions[edit | edit source]

Locations where niirds can be encountered in Sejan.

Niirds can be encountered on Sejan's beaches in the upper half ("north") of the peninsula. The chance to encounter a given niird variant (male or female) is 1/30 (3.33 %) before defeating the Caenemung in the beach cave or after it leaves, and 1/32 (3.13%) when the Caenemung is present in the beach area. The total chance to encounter a niird is double that, because the chances to encounter a male or a female niird are equal.

If the player wishes to access the explicit scenes involving niirds without any foreknowledge of the animal, they'll have to force matters after defeating them in combat. Due to the timid nature of the niirds, the player needs to sneak up on them or catch them after a chase in order to engage them in combat, otherwise they will run away. Niirds are not very tough opponents even to an unarmed player.

Sneaking up to a niird and wrangling it successfully requires the player character to have Agility 6 and Strength 8 respectively. Running after one of them with less than Endurance 8 will fail, and they'll be able to evade the player.

Alternatively, the player can fool the niirds to engage in more consensual scenes with the right knowledge gained from Miggpli. By imitating their sounds, the player will appear as a fellow niird for the simple animals, and they will be able to approach them without problems.

The male player character have the choice to penetrate either niird anally after successfully fooling them into thinking he's just another niird. The creature will not like it, however, and will try to struggle and flee when they catch up to the player's intentions. The player character will need Strength 8 to hold them down. If the player character lacks the strength to hold them still they will try to run away. The player can catch up to them with Endurance 8, and make them succumb to the player's will after a fight, if they so choose.
