The kwumui are a species of blue-green, avian-like creatures roaming the Red Forest. Therefore, while they are located in Sejan, they don't inhabit the mainland. There are three known variants of them - males, females and queens.

This nomadic species traverses the seas using their ball-like tail that can be inflated with air to keep them buoyant. They can also control their steering during the marine travel by the use of their paddle-like ears.

Females are the smallest ones and are harmless overall. They can be either found in rare cases on their own or after winning a fight against a male kwumui. Males are larger and aggressive, instantly noticeable by their scar-covered bodies. Gameplay-wise, queens are as rare as regular females and are the most dangerous ones, towering above both of the other variants. Lore-wise however, they're very rare. While the regular female kwumui lay eggs, the queens give live birth.

Player interactions[edit | edit source]

Locations where kwumui can be encountered in Sejan.

Kwumui can be encountered in the forested areas of the Red Forest island. The total chance to encounter a kwumui there is 5/34 (14.71 %), further broken down into 3/34 (8.82 %) chance for a male specimen and 1/34 (2.94 %) for both the female and queen variants.

Female kwumui will submit immediately to the player when approached. This is in contrast with the male kwumui, which give the player a decent fight, and queen kwumui which are quite formidable opponents. Note that while the player can peacefully back away from a male kwumui, the queens attack on sight. If the player loses the fight against a male or queen kwumui, and if they also fail a following Agility 6 check, they are killed by the creature, getting slashed and torn apart.

Talking to Miggpli or Sulie about the kwumui does not unlock any new explicit scenes for the player.
