Breirb is a sapient colony of worm creatures living in the Sejan beach cave. The visible part of it, a barnacle-like rocky exoskeleton, is only a small portion of its actual size, which is unknown.

Background[edit | edit source]

The colony is fairly isolated from the outside world. Some worms do leave it to travel to other places, which is the main way of sharing information and news with other colonies. Individual worms don't have names either (under regular circumstances), and they communicate using smell and position.

Player interactions[edit | edit source]

Upon discovering Breirb, the player can ask them questions surrounding their culture and activities. If the player asks if Breirb needs help, they're given an option to fight a creature that's been bothering and stealing from them. This creature can be taken on multiple times if the player loses against it. If the player manages to defeat the beast, they're offered to join in on Breirb's "celebrations", which turns out to be a euphemism for mating. The scene is available for both male and female player characters and is different between the two.

On the next visit, a male player character can engage in a closer sexual relationship with the colony, going as far as entering the barnacle. This can only happen if the player brings a bottle of bitter water, obtainable from Bykaas to prevent any unfortunate consequences. As if something like this wasn't unusual enough for Breirb, one of the worms—the main, central one—romantically falls for the player and gives itself a name, Nuirum.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • In v1, Breirb was located in the first room of the cave and needed Perception 6 to be found, a skill which has been discarded.
  • Breirb uses the face mask only to have something for outsiders to look at and have some sort of familiarity. For instance, the eyes of the mask are actually just used as a place for their young.
