Creature information
|
Cuoxurs are probably the oddest creatures found in Sejan. In addition to their highly unusual shape, their means of defense and reproduction are strange, to say the least.
To fend off enemies, they use disorientating, highly damaging sonic attacks that vibrate the air and leave ringing in ears of those in vicinity for dozens of minutes.
Their way of procreation is even more unique: All cuoxurs have many tiny little cavities on their 'necks'. During mating, they rub their backs together and release ooze from these pores that then form into the shape of genitals. It is currently unknown if one retains its sex or can switch genders, but the former seems more likely; however, more research is necessary.
Player interactions[edit | edit source]
Cuoxurs are found only in thick Sejan forest, visible on the game map as the darker area between Witch's house and the pond. They can only be encountered during the night. The chance to encounter a cuoxur varies whether or not the player has collected all rusty spearheads, as shown in the table below. The table shows chances to encounter a given cuoxur variant (male or female). The chance to encounter any cuoxur is double that seen here.

Should the player decide to assault a cuoxur, the creature shouldn't prove to be a significant challenge. Even an unarmed player character with low stats should be able to defeat them handily.
The player is barred from accessing explicit scenes for either cuoxur until they ask Miggpli or Sulie about them and their reproductive functions, as there is no way to determine their sex without the knowledge.
Miggpli's research[edit | edit source]
Miggpli asks the player to tag several cuoxurs with colored amoul shells so that he can distinguish males and females for observation of their mating habits. The player is tasked to approach them, 'excite' them and tag two and two of each sex accordingly. This requires a combat sequence for each unless the player takes advantage of finding (or more accurately, falling) into a cuoxur pit. They are nocturnal creatures, so keep that in mind when trying to find them for tagging.
Cuoxur pit[edit | edit source]
While traveling through the Sejan forests during the day, there is a small chance (see table below) to fall into a pit filled with sleeping cuoxurs. These pits are built by cuoxurs themselves with leaves, sticks, and loose dirt glued together with unknown fluid. This includes the ceiling, so an unsuspecting wanderer can find themselves falling through it onto a pile of drowsy creatures.
Players who don't possess knowledge of their reproductive habits can only climb back out of the pit. Those who know better can decide to start 'exciting' the creatures and possibly engage in an orgy with them. If the tagging quest for Miggpli is active, the pit can be used to tag all required cuoxurs at once. The chance to randomly stumble upon the pit is also much higher during the quest.
