Blihge are pale and fragile chalk-like structures that grow underwater, specifically cold waters on the outer edges of a landmass.

They develop long, foggy, glass-like shapes inside them that are used for decorations, jewelery, and utility thanks to the material's resistance to water. These are simply called Ge or Ge glass, and their value is determined by their size, colour, clarity, and shape. Straight shapes with intense colours are more appreciated, purple and blueish Ge in particular is considered valuable. Pale, translucent, or foggy Ge is the most common and is often just used for utility purposes, like being ground down to use in water-resistant paint.
